Well, Christmas morning was pretty blissful.  It is great to be home again, having slept in my own bed for the first time in two and a half weeks.  We had pancakes for breakfast and I'm still stuffed from it.  I crawled back into bed with my laptop after everything and I've been alternating between finally reading Never Quite Normal (I'm on chapter 3) at Teaspoon and writing chapter two of A Sky Without Stars.  I'm making myself write at least 200 words between chapters.  It's coming along very well.  I might be able to finish it tonight or tomorrow at the rate I'm going.  It is sooooooooo nice to be over writer's block.  I'm still in pain, but I'm coping with a much more positive attitude.  Mostly I'm just really happy my husband is home.  That's the best gift I could have asked for.

Merry Christmas everyone.

My muse definitely appears to be back in full force as I have finished the first chapter of A Sky Without Stars.  Just waiting to hear back from at least one of my betas.  Which could be a while, considering it's Christmas Eve morning.  Merry Christmas Eve everyone.

Things went much better today.  Sometimes I think a good whine is all I need to get over these things.  Other times that doesn't work, but yesterday it seems to have.  It also helps that today I was operating on a lot more sleep.  I wrote just over 1800 words today on the first chapter of A Sky Without Stars.  I know I need to finish the others but right now I'm going where the muse takes me.  Otherwise it feels like I am forcing it, you know?  I don't know if I'll finish it tonight or not.  I actually threw out my original beginning because it simply didn't feel right.  I'd written it quite some time ago and there was just no feeling of flow with it.  When I restarted it, it just started coming out my fingertips and that is always, always a good sign.  Now, here's hoping this lasts.

I'm also feeling a bit more in the Christmas spirit.  It helps that Chris comes home tomorrow and that I'll be going home.

Well.  I don't post much anymore, do I?  I dunno what's up with that.  I guess I'm just sort of in this limbo place right now.  Also LJ is being stupid and screwing with the formatting so I apologize if there are no paragraph breaks or really big ones.  I'm trying to compensate.

Wherein I talk too much )

Not much else to tell.  I'm bored with being in recovery from surgery and tired of not being able to live a real life right now.  I need fluff.  I'm finding a bit, but there seems to be a real lack of any DW stories right now.  Fortunately most of what is being posted is fluff.  Still, I wish there was more.

What are the laws regarding an adult learning how to drive a car over there?  Do they have to take classes or is it like here where you get a permit and anyone can teach you as long as they've had five years of driving experience?  I'm thinking about having Jonathon give Rose driving lessons.  I know it's an AU London and I can technically do what I want, but I'd like it to be close to the real thing if possible.  Thanks in advance.

I went to my one week post surgery follow-up appointment today. Everything is healing nicely, but the Doctor wants to send me to physical therapy because my range of motion is still limited more than he would like it to be at this point. I have been using one crutch instead of two for the past three days and now he wants me to try small distances without a crutch. I did a bit, but it's still quite weak so I'll have to build up the strength in it again. It's still swollen so I'm not through with elevation and ice packs just yet. I'm still in a fair bit of pain, but I'm down to one pain pill during the day. I still take two at bedtime though, because if I don't I wake up with raging pain.

I hope to get back to writing in a few more days as the pain lessens more and more. I miss it, but right now simply don't have the focus. I started reading A Sky Without Zeppelins. I've never actually reread it straight through. I've reread chapters and chunks, but I've never reread the whole thing since I wrote it. It gives me silly grins and giggles. I don't think I realized quite how fluffy it was in the beginning. It's doing wonders to improve my spirits and I'm only on chapter six. I'd forgotten how happy my happy/happy fic makes me. Though I will finish Body Language before working on Stars. I left the poor Doctor blinded and I really need to fix that!
